Major heatwave forecast in the US, hottest temps of the year. Heat going up into the Arctic. Big snow loss on Greenland in the forecast. They will blame it all on CO2 and say it’s Trump’s fault.
The weather in Alberta lately has seen a week of summer weather and then flips back to a week of early spring weather. Do we really need for Bill Gates to cool the planet?
Hi Cap. With respect to Dirk Pitt’s overtake of your publication, he is obviously suffering from Textual Diarhea and should seek help. From a pilot’s point of view, he is stuck on transmit. Our visual communication receptors are being abused! Give us all a break for a while, Dirk. This is not Speakers’ Corner in London. All you are achieving, at least in my estimation, is an unhealthy and unnecessary diminution of The Electroverse’s followership. Billy Best in the Vancouver, BC area.
You asked if “normal” people think about cold all the time. Do you actually know what normal behavior is? I come from a family of excessively verbal people. I had an aunt and uncle who, when they got in the same room, would talk louder and louder until they were screaming at each other, because neither of them would shut up long enough to let the other speak.
I have spent my entire life trying to learn how to give other people a chance to speak. My poor tongue is bloody and swollen from biting on it.
So why do I bother? Because I do not want to walk through this world alone, for one thing. And for another, you learn a lot of interesting things if you just shut up and listen sometimes.
I was getting worried there for a while at all the stuff about “carbon” in rivers, but you redeemed yourself at he end and went back to the CO2 it should be.
GISS should stick to its original mission of space science!
Top headlines at Space Weather.com and Space Weather New.com are both saying there could be a X flare today. Not saying how quiet the Sun is past solar maximum.

They were correct, X 1.2 solar flare at 21:49 UTC 6/17/25.

Another solar flare from Jupiter being on the other side of the Sun from Earth. More solar flares possible with the alignment this week and all next week from more alignments.
We got the X flare yesterday, but it was only an X1.2. Nothing to write home about.

I find it hard to block people.
But Dirk is getting testing me. Ha.
Better cool yer jets, Dirk.

Try it, you might like it.
I probably should read this…
5 Reasons to Shut up and Listen!

1. Everyone wants to be Seen, Heard, Accepted and Validated
2. It’s THEIR journey, not ours
3. Safety!
4. How will you spot when they stop talking?
5. It’s just sommer rude, man.
